How to Install NTK Printers on Your Laptop/Tablet

You may need to install NTK printers on your own laptop or tablet. The process differs depending on which operating system you use. Follow the instructions below.

You need to be a registered library patron and you need to connect your device to NTK-Simple WiFi.

  1. Begin by downloading the driver 
  2. Run the executable, the installer will start

  3. Accept the licence agreement

  4. Select Traditional Mode

  5. Select Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings

  6. Select HP Universal Printing PCL6

    Responsive image
  7. Enter print queue name (e.g. NTK Print)

  8. Select Do not share this printer

  9. You can select this printer as default, note that it won't work outside NTK network
  10. Next, open Run dialog ( Start > Run, or press Windows key + R) and enter \\samba
  11. Log in with your NTK username and password

  12. After login, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click the newly created printer and select Properties

  13. Select Ports on the top menu bar, select LPT1 and click Add Port

  14. Select Local port > New port

  15. Enter port name \\samba\prn_tisk and click OK

  16. Select the new port and click Apply

  17. The printer is now set up
 
  1. Download printer driver for 64-bit operating system or 32-bit operating system.
  2. Go to My Computer and enter \\samba into the address bar.
    Note: If a bar appears that says Network discovery and file sharing are turned off, click on the bar and select Turn on network discovery and file sharing.

  3. Log in with your NTK username and password.

  4. Go to Control Panel and select Add a printer.
  5. Select The printer that I want isn't listed.

  6. Select Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings.

  7. Select port LPT1 and click Next.

  8. Select Have Disk and launch the printer driver.

  9. Select HP Universal Printing PCL6 anc click Next. Wait for the printer to finish installing before moving on.

  10. Select Do not share this printer when asked.
  11. Go to Control Panel > Devices and printers, right-click the icon for the newly-installed printer and select Printer properties.

  12. Select Ports on the top menu bar.
  13. Select LPT1 and click Add port.

  14. Select Local port > New port.

  15. Enter port name \\samba\prn_tisk and click OK.
  16. Go to Accessory Output Bin and select HP 3-Bin Stapler/Stacker - Stacker Mode-CE736A.

  17. Complete tray settings to match the picture below.

  1. Download and extract printer driver for 64-bit operating system or 32-bit operating system.
  2. Go to My Computer and enter \\samba into the address bar.
    Note: If a bar appears that says Network discovery and file sharing are turned off, click on the bar and select Turn on network discovery and file sharing.

  3. Log in with your NTK username and password.

  4. Go to Control Panel and select Add a printer.
  5. Keep the existing port and click Next.
  6. Select the driver HP Universal Printing PLC (v5.5.0) and click Next.
  7. Name the new printer and click Next. Wait for the printer to finish installing before moving on.
  8. Select Do not share this printer when asked.
  9. Go to Control Panel > Devices and printers and right-click the icon for the newly-installed printer. Select Printer properties.
  10. Select Ports on the top menu bar.
  11. Select LPT1 and click Add port.
  12. Select Local port > New port.
  13. Enter port name \\samba\prn_tisk and click OK.
  14. Complete tray settings to match the picture below.

  15. Go to Accessory Output Bin and select HP 3-Bin Stamper/Stacker - Stacker Mode-CE736A.
  1. Go to My Computer and enter \\samba into the address bar.
    Note: If a bar appears that says Network discovery and file sharing are turned off, click on the bar and select Turn on network discovery and file sharing.
  2. Log in with your NTK username and password.
  3. Right-click on prn_tisk in the left sidebar.
  4. Select Connect a network printer.
  5. Click Yes to confirm the installation of the printer driver.
  6. Select prn_tisk to launch a print job.

  2. Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan > Settings and press the (+) button on the bottom left.

  3. Select Advanced settings.
    Note: You may need to add the Advanced settings icon to the toolbar by right clicking the toolbar at the top and selecting Customize Toolbar. Then drag & drop the Advanced button to the toolbar.

  4. Fill in the following information for the new printer.

  5. For Print Using, select HP Color LaserJet CM6040 MFP and click Add.

  6. Click Continue (default settings do not need to be changed).

  7. When the printer installation is finished, a window of printer details will appear. To print, select this printer and enter your NTK username and password.

  1. Open the Printing administration > Devices.
  2. Select Current device in the left sidebar.
  3. Select Set authentication details now.
  4. Enter your NTK username and password.
  5. Select Select printer from database.
  6. Select HP and click Next.
  7. Choose driver Color LaserJet CM6040 MFP and click Next.
  8. Click Forward (default setting do not need to be changed).
  9. Enter a new name for printer (optional).
